Jacqueline Fernandez is a Sri Lankan actress from Manama, Bahrain and was raised in a multi-ethnic home. Jacqueline's father Elroy is a Sri Lankan (Catholic Sinhalese) and her mother Kim is a Malaysian. She is the younger of two siblings and has one older brother. Because of the turmoil in Sri Lanka, her family were forced to relocate to Bahrain in the early 1980s. When she finished her studies in Bahrain, she was awarded an Scholarship to attend Sydney's University of Sydney, where she pursued a degree of Media and Communications in Sydney, Australia. An avid lover of different cultures and different languages, she attended Berlitz Language School, where she studied Spanish and improved her French and Arabic. Miss Sri Lanka 2006 won Miss Universe 2006 competition in March 2006 and she participated as Miss Universe 2006 also. After her victory in 2006, Miss Sri Lanka win, Padukone entered the television world as host of a TV show on Sri Lankan Business called Lanka Business Report. Padukone is the daughter of the famous badminton player Prakash Padukone. She was born in Bangalore and born in Copenhagen. When she was a teenager she participated in national badminton competitions, but quit playing and went on to become a fashion designer. Padukone is a native of Mangalore in India. The language she speaks is Konkani is her mother tongue. Padukone is located in Kundapura Taluk of Karnataka's Udupi District. Prakash Padukone was a badminton legend, who retired in the late 1980s. She has a mother who runs who worked for a travel agency also comes from the village.
